The Perfect Vegan French Toast

Happy sixth day of goodness! As we approach Christmas, we thought this recipe would be the perfect breakfast to enjoy with your loved ones on Christmas morning. It's super easy too, so you won't have to spend the morning slaving away in the kitchen. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, this is still a delicious French toast recipe that will satisfy your cravings any day of the week.

Ingredients:

1 flax egg (1 tbsp flax in 3 tbsp water)

1 cup almond milk (or any nut milk of your choice)

1 tbsp maple syrup

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla

About 5 slices of bread (we used a thick french baguette, one day old, but you can use whatever you have)

Instructions:

Mix together all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Except the bread, obviously.

Lightly dip the bread in the batter. Do not over dip, if the dough is too soggy you will not attain optimal results. We learned this the hard way. Exercise caution while dipping.

In a pan on medium heat, warm up vegan butter or oil of your choice (we would recommend coconut oil) and cook each side until golden brown and lightly crispy around the edges.

Stack them up and serve warm with maple syrup and fruit or any toppings of your choosing!

Voila! Simple, delicious, egg-less French toast!
