Glorious Granola
Why pay big bucks for store bought granola when you can make it for less than $5 at home AND know exactly what you're putting in your body?! Today we've got the perfect granola recipe for topping a bowl of coconut yogurt, dressing your favourite smoothie bowl, or just à-la-cereal style with some plant-based milk! This batch makes a lot, like... a LOT. So you'll be set for a month if you keep the recipe as is, or feel free to cut it in half if you're not looking to eat granola for breakfast for two weeks straight (minimum). So hit up the bulk section at your grocery store and let's get into it!
Ingredients:
2 cups oats
1-2 tbsp chia seeds
2-3 tbsp hemp hearts
2-3 tbsp flax seeds
1/2 cup coconut shreds
3/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup halved walnuts
2-3 tbsp maple syrup (to taste)
2-3 tbsp brown sugar (to taste)
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
Optional add ins:
1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips
*If you don't have all of the fancy healthy seeds listed above, worry not! You can easily omit them and your granola will turn out just as gloriously! Promise.
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Throw all of the goodness into a large bowl and mix it around.
Pop it on a baking tray and bake it for anywhere from 10-20 minutes, depending how toasted you want it to be. You can even leave it raw if you so please- it tastes good both before and after baking so follow your heart!
And voila! Home-made, delicious, GLORIOUS granola... Let's hope you like it because you've got enough for a month :)
