The Perfect Green Morning Smoothie

In honour of wisdom tooth removal week here in the Moser family, we are bringing you a perfect breakfast smoothie to get in some greens when you can't chew any solid foods... Or if you just love smoothies and are looking to try a new recipe, that works too. We're all about smoothies at all times but they come in especially handy when you're dealing with the post-surgery can't-eat-anything blues. Here is Claire's famous smoothie recipe!

Ingredients:

1.5 cups frozen fruit of your choice (for this recipe we like to go with a tropical blend with pineapples, peaches, and strawberries, but you can definitely make it a berry smoothie and toss in whatever frozen fruit you prefer)

1 cup kale or spinach (frozen or fresh- we prefer fresh)

1/2 cup coconut water (can substitute with juice)

1/2 cup almond milk or other plant based milk

1 banana (as spotty and ripe as possible to add most sweetness)

1 scoop protein powder (optional- but we use Vega vanilla)

A little more juice to flavour if you like it very sweet

Instructions:

It's 2017 so I think we all know how to make a smoothie but if we must spell it out for you then here you go... Just toss it all in a blender and mix until it's a delicious green smoothie! Pretty straight forward!

Claire is #blessed and has a trusty Vitamix that does the job better than any other blender on the market, in our opinion, but if you're not so fortunate to have one of those bad boys, our one piece of advice is to blend up the greens with the liquid first so you don't get any weird chunky pieces of kale or spinach in there, and then add all the rest of the ingredients and blend as usual.

Now enjoy your smoothie, whether it's part of your usual morning routine or you're struggling through your loss of wisdom. Either way, we hope you like it as much as we do!
